Majoras Mask Review!

Tonight, as I sit at home cuddled up in blankets with tea as I avoid this awful winter weather the east coast of the US is being hit with, I'm going to review the new 3DS remake of The Legend of Zelda series, Majora's Mask!

~also, I have a cold so pour a lil one for a homie here~

Okay so, let me start off with the fact that I did play The Legend of Zelda series as a kid, but not nearly as much as some of you, and I had completely forgotten pretty much everything about the game. I recommend if youre the same, you should play Ocarina of Time (the prequel to Majoras Mask, right? yeah?) just because Majora's Mask pretty much picks up where that game left off. You don't necessarily need to do it, but I felt almost weird playing this game because theres so many references to OoT that I only semi-understood between what I've seen on the internet, and playing the game a million years ago when I was a child (yeah, I'm a million and a half years old). Overall the game is really fun and you definitely get sucked in quickly (i played for 6 hours straight the first day and didnt even realize) but it's definitely not crazy amazing or anything in my opinion.

Honestly, if you have anxiety this game is notttt for you. I literally have the craziest anxiety and it makes me insane, like, 85% of the time, and this game is all based on one giant countdown of 3 days but in real time thats like 9 hours of game play and imo its stressful as heck. Like you'll be playing and the screen will start caving in on itself as each day ends and pretty much if you run out of time you have to start over. You can play the inverted song of time or whatever on your ocarina to slow down the time lapse, and then you can save and use another song to restart the 3 day time period so you technically continue to play but the countdown thing restarts and ugh tbh its just stressful to do, especially when you're new to the world of LoZ.

Another thing that pisses me off is like with every thing you have to do, theres a thousand mini things within each of those objectives and they all take SO LONG to complete, and you can't just save whenever, you have to save at certain checkpoints or use the song of soaring to go to a checkpoint which sucks because either a) you have to continue with the game against your will just to finish this part because youre so deep into it or b) you fly back to a checkpoint to save but then you have to backtrack for flipping ever just to get back where you were, and god forbid you mess up once (like missing a landing and falling off for instance) cause then you have to start over AGAIN and ugh, I still haven't touched the game since the release last friday because I was so frustrated with it.

One thing I wish they would have done is given you time to explore the city and gather all the items, without being introduced to the main storyline yet with the whole 3 day countdown, because in the town you can get a lot of stuff that makes the game easier (like masks and such) that you dont necessarily need to get to progress with the game. Like I said, its easy because you can just play a song and restart the time countdown whenever you want so technically the countdown isn't a real issue, but it bugs me that its constantly happening, meanwhile youre getting bombarded with notifications like "omg dude theres only like acouple hrs left of day time" and you can just see on your screen the time getting lost and ugh, literally like I said, if you have anxiety or get stressed easily, maybe you should just avoid this game.

It reminds me of those creppy online tests you have to take in college on blackboard that usually has a time limit, and as youre answering questions, the time lapse bar is at the top, slowly diminishing, and youre just like argh frick times a-runnin out, so you rush and flip out and like in the end you have SO much time left and youre just like fbw45iubfo0ou';l,hk

Idk.

It's a fun game, I just cannot stand the countdown thing, I feel like I have to rush rather than just enjoy the game. Why can't it be like pokemon where I can just twiddle my thumbs while talking to every person in town hoping for a berry or some random TM I know I'll never use?

Pray for me if I ever do pick up this game again, and I know I will because my butt doesn't spend good money on something I don't even finish. This will be like Gurren Lagann and I will fight to finish it despite it taking me within an inch of my life to do so!

So thats it for tonight!

Love u guys~
